Certain Scholarships listed below require a WCCF Financial Information Form to be included with the application. If this form is required, a link will be provided under the scholarship description.

If you have yet to determine which educational institution you will be attending at the time of completing the scholarship application, please list your first school of choice on the application. Changes may be made after the application is completed by contacting the Foundation at wccf@sssnet.com.

Scholarships through WCCF may be used for tuition and fees (not including room and board) required for enrollment or attendance at the educational instituion. Fees, books, supplies and equipment directly required for courses of instruction are eligible if they can be purchased directly from the school. If the scholarship is used for any other expense, the IRS considers it taxable income for the student.

Note: If you are a recipient of a scholarship through the Wayne County Community Foundation, all monetary awards will be made payable to your account at the post-secondary school you will be or are attending. Unless otherwise stated, checks will be issued in July, prior to the new school year. No checks will be awarded directly to any individuals. No awards shall be made to students with less than two grade “terms” (quarters, semesters, etc.) left before graduating from the program.

Dalton

Arden and Clarice Shisler Nationwide Insurance Scholarship (Agriculture)

Eligibility: Available to Dalton High School graduating seniors enrolling at an accredited college, university, or technical school as a full-time student pursuing a major in any agriculture or agriculture related field. Applicants must have a balance of participation in academics, extra-curricular activities and community service/part-time employment, have a minimum 2.50 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Previous applicants and/or recipients may not reapply.
Term: One Year
Amount: $7,000 ($1,000 minimum)

Blosser Brothers (Lee and John ) Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicant must be a graduating senior from Smithville High School who is enrolled in college as a full time student and has financial need. Preference toward students who have physical handicaps. If physically handicapped, there is no limitation on the field of study. If not physically handicapped, applicant must be studying some field of agriculture.

Clinton E. Missler Agri-Scholarship

Eligibility: Current residents of Wayne County who are furthering their education in agriculture, farm economics, animal husbandry, animal nutrition & research, or soil and water conservation. Application: Submit high school and/or college transcript; college aptitude test results (if available); statement of 300 words or less stating why applicant feels he/she should be considered for this scholarship (ability, future plans, awards, activities, achievements, interests, financial need). Selection Criteria: Selected on basis of scholastic ability, citizenship, character, and financial need.

Applicants must be enrolling in or enrolled in an accredited educational institution as a full-time student, to further their education in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, home and farm economics, animal husbandry, solid and water conservation, or forestry. Preference will be given to those applicants with financial need.Past recipients may re-apply, up to a maximum of four years. These applications will be included in the annual pool of candidates for the present year's selection process.
