Certain Scholarships listed below require a WCCF Financial Information Form to be included with the application. If this form is required, a link will be provided under the scholarship description.

If you have yet to determine which educational institution you will be attending at the time of completing the scholarship application, please list your first school of choice on the application. Changes may be made after the application is completed by contacting the Foundation at wccf@sssnet.com.

Scholarships through WCCF may be used for tuition and fees (not including room and board) required for enrollment or attendance at the educational instituion. Fees, books, supplies and equipment directly required for courses of instruction are eligible if they can be purchased directly from the school. If the scholarship is used for any other expense, the IRS considers it taxable income for the student.

Note: If you are a recipient of a scholarship through the Wayne County Community Foundation, all monetary awards will be made payable to your account at the post-secondary school you will be or are attending. Unless otherwise stated, checks will be issued in July, prior to the new school year. No checks will be awarded directly to any individuals. No awards shall be made to students with less than two grade “terms” (quarters, semesters, etc.) left before graduating from the program.

Norwayne

Helen Youngen Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicant must be a graduating senior from Norwayne High School, who has attended Norwayne High School a minimum of two years, with a preference to students from the Burbank, Ohio, area who attended elementary school in the Burbank school district. Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as a full-time student (12 hours per semester or its equivalent in quarter hours). Must have a minimum 3.00 GPA (on a 4.00 point scale) and have a demonstrated financial need. This is a four-year scholarship so long as the student maintains a minimum 3.00 GPA in college, remains a full-time student. First preference shall be granted to students who plan to study elementary education.

Amount: $7,000 total award ($1,000 first year; $1,500 second year; $2,000 third year; $2,500 fourth year)
