The Wayne County Children’s Resource Fund was established to help remove barriers which may impede children’s ability to lead meaningful and productive lives. These barriers may include poverty, drug use, bullying, discrimination, learning disabilities, low self-confidence, or a challenging home life. Grants may be made to nonprofit organizations for programs or capital projects that impact these issues.
The Wayne County Children’s Resource Fund is a component fund of the Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) and shall adhere to all WCCF policies.
Charitable organizations serving children of Wayne County, Ohio are invited to apply for grants from the Wayne County Children’s Resource Fund by September 1 of each year for projects requiring funding after November 15 of each year.
In order to make the best use of available funds, the Foundation looks for one or more of the following when reviewing proposal requests:
The Foundation normally does not approve grants from the Wayne County Children’s Resource Fund to support:
Grants are limited to activities and organizations benefiting children in the Wayne County, Ohio area. Grants may not be used to carry on propaganda or otherwise attempt to influence legislation, participate in or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office, or to conduct, directly or indirectly, any voter registration drive (within the meaning of Section 4945(d)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code).
The Foundation makes grants only to organizations that are recognized by the Internal Revenue Code as nonprofit, tax-exempt, charitable organizations, educational institutions, or to qualified governmental agencies. The Foundation does not make grants to individuals except through scholarship funds.
NOTE: If you are seeking a grant for a group or agency that is not a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization, educational institution, or qualified governmental agency (ie. booster club, youth group, parent/teacher organization), your group must be affiliated with one of these types of primary organizations to be eligible to apply. When completing the online application, the organization contact information and EIN/Tax ID number applies to the primary organization. Awarded grants will be given to the primary organization for the benefit of your affiliated group.
Organizations receiving grants are required to submit a report to the Foundation within one year of receipt of the grant.

NOTE: If you have established an account, enter your email address and password on the login screen and click the "Login" button. You will then be asked for your organization's EIN/Tax ID number and this begins the online application process.
If you chose to "Save & Finish Later" while entering your application information, click on the link below to return to your application. This link will take you to the login screen. Once logged in, the title of your application will appear on your "My Account" page. Click on your application title to resume entering your application information.
Once you submit your completed application, a confirmation email will be sent to you.

The grant application deadline is September 1, for a decision by November.
