Friend of Philanthropy Award
Do you know someone who has made a difference in Wayne County?
- An individual or couple who demonstrates a continuing history of advancing the quality of life or grow community philanthropy in Wayne County, Ohio.
- Makes a difference in our communities with their philanthropic activities, which may include: financial contributions, volunteering, and giving of their time, resources or skills.
Any person(s) residing or working within Wayne County may recommend deserving nominees.

Nominations must be received by WCCF by Noon on July 1.
- The recipient of the award will be honored at the WCCF Annual Dinner, held in October.
- Recipient will be presented with an engraved plaque and a $1,000 grant will be made on their behalf to the charity of their choice.

Carlos "Cork" Appleman established the permanent Carlos Appleman Scholarship Fund through a bequest to recognize the care that he received by Registered Nurses (RNâ€™s), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNâ€™s) and Nursing Aides (STNAâ€™s) and to encourage these caring professionals to continue their healthcare education.
