Certain Scholarships listed below require a WCCF Financial Information Form to be included with the application. If this form is required, a link will be provided under the scholarship description.

If you have yet to determine which educational institution you will be attending at the time of completing the scholarship application, please list your first school of choice on the application. Changes may be made after the application is completed by contacting the Foundation at wccf@sssnet.com.

Scholarships through WCCF may be used for tuition and fees (not including room and board) required for enrollment or attendance at the educational instituion. Fees, books, supplies and equipment directly required for courses of instruction are eligible if they can be purchased directly from the school. If the scholarship is used for any other expense, the IRS considers it taxable income for the student.

Note: If you are a recipient of a scholarship through the Wayne County Community Foundation, all monetary awards will be made payable to your account at the post-secondary school you will be or are attending. Unless otherwise stated, checks will be issued in July, prior to the new school year. No checks will be awarded directly to any individuals. No awards shall be made to students with less than two grade “terms” (quarters, semesters, etc.) left before graduating from the program.

Carlos Weber Memorial Scholarship

Distinction: This scholarship was established in 2000 after the untimely death of Carlos at the age of 23 from injuries suffered in a construction accident.
Eligibility: A Wayne or Ashland County graduating high school senior enrolling at the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute (OSU-ATI) or an enrolled OSU-ATI student who has at least one more full-time year of classes.

Empowering Women Through Technical Education Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicants must be a female resident of Wayne County, Ohio (high school students or adults) who have completed career training or GED/high school diploma preparation through the Wayne County Schools Career Center (WCSCC). Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling in an accredited post-secondary educational institution (i.e. university, college, technical, or vocational school), with a course of study leading to a career with a "living wage". High School applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA (on a 4.00 point scale) during their senior year and adults must have a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.00 scale) for all career training classes completed at the WCSCC or have successfully prepared for and completed their GED or high school diploma through WCSCC/ABLE. First preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled or enrolling at OSU-ATI, have financial need, and demonstrate a motivation to succeed.

Lillian Long - P.E.O., Chapter AP, Scholarship

Eligibility: Available to a second-year Wayne County female resident enrolled in the horticultural sciences at Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute. The applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.80 grade point average and demonstrate financial need. Preference shall be given to applicants focusing on Floral Design and/or Greenhouse Production. A first year female student may be considered if there are no eligible second-year applicants.
