Auble Named President of WCCF

The Wayne County Community Foundation announced Mark Auble has been elected to serve as President of the Board of Trustees. Auble has served as a Trustee since 2006, representing Orrville. In addition to his role as President, he will serve as an ex-officio member of all standing committees of the Board.

In commenting on Auble’s appointment, Steve Matthew, immediate Past-President, said “I am confident that Mark will provide outstanding leadership, and that WCCF will continue to grow and expand its role as a catalyst for effective philanthropy in Wayne County.”

Auble was born and raised in Orrville and is the fourth generation Funeral Director for the family business, Auble Funeral Home. Active in the community, Auble is a member of Orrville Rotary, active in the Orrville Area Boys and Girls Club and the Dunlap Community Hospital Board, and serves as the head coach for the Orrville High School swim team. He was named the 2012 Paul Powell Citizen of the Year by the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Auble replaces Steve Matthew, who has stepped down after six years as President and will remain an active member of the Foundation’s board, serving as Chair of the Nominating Committee, and representing the Wooster area as he has since 2009.

Auble noted his appreciation for the Foundation’s leadership through the years, stating “I give special thanks to past presidents J.C. Johnston and Steve Matthew, as well as the talented staff at WCCF, who have been pivotal to the remarkable long-term growth of the Foundation.”
