The Women's Fund was established to impact the lives of women and children in Wayne County, Ohio by directing resources to organizations that support the education of women and empower change and self-sufficiency.
The Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) is pleased to announce the 2020 grant awards from The Women’s Fund totaling $17,450. Based on the evaluations and recommendations from The Women’s Fund Advisory Committee, the WCCF Board of Trustees approved the following grant awards:
Aultman Orrville Hospital received a $6,450 grant to replace three pain medication pumps utilized by mothers during the labor process at their Family Birth Center.
Forget-Me-Not Baskets Inc. received a $1,000 grant to provide bereavement baskets for Wayne and Holmes County residents who have lost a child during pregnancy or childbirth.
OneEighty, Inc. received a $10,000 grant to help single women who are victims of domestic violence move into safe and stable housing when leaving the OneEighty shelter.
Since its inception in 2013, The Women’s Fund has awarded $103,450 to benefit women in Wayne County.
The Women’s Fund grant guidelines and online application are available at www.waynecountycommunityfoundation.org. Competitive grant applications from nonprofit, tax-exempt, charitable organizations that benefit women within the greater Wayne County, Ohio, area should be submitted by September 1 each year.
The WCCF is a not-for-profit charitable community organization established in 1978 to accept contributions, create and administer funds, and make grants for the benefit of the people of the greater Wayne County area. The Foundation has awarded more than $84.5 million in the form of grants and scholarships from its 475 separate funds. Donations to provide greater future grant opportunities can be made to The Women’s Fund, a component fund of WCCF, by individuals, families, businesses and service organizations.
