WorthyWorks Awards: Two Wayne Co. Nonprofits Honored

WorthyWorks Award LogoEach year the Foundation, in conjunction with the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce and the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce, honors two local non-profit organizations that make a significant impact in their local communities.

In January, Habitat for Humanity was honored at the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner. Habitat is celebrating their 30th year of service in Wayne County. The organization is committed to developing partnerships and communities by building and renovating houses in order to enhance the lives of partner families. Since it formed in 1986, the organization has constructed over 75 homes in Wayne County!

Orrville Historical Society will be honored for their contributions to the Orrville area on March 22nd at the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner. OHS serves to collect, preserve, and share the Orrville area’s history in order to educate the community and its visitors.

The WorthyWorks Award is made on the basis of an organization’s commitment to the quality of life, social conscience and betterment of the community, and it includes a $1,000 contribution from the WCCF to support the continuing efforts of the organization.
